We extend our deep sympathy to the wife and daughter of Dr. Parker in their sad bereavement. A great, good and useful man is gone. He will be missed more than any man in Colfax. He was the finest surgeon in Indiana. He was held in high esteem. His funeral was largely attended, with about 1,500 people following his remains to their last resting place. - s

Colfax, Ind April 22 - Dr. Joseph Parker, one of the leading physicians of Clinton County is dead of neurgela. He was born in this county in 1850 received his diploma at Miami College and gavae much attention to surgery. He leaves a wife and one daughter. -kz

Colfax, Ind April 21 - Dr. Joseph Parker, one of Clinton County's foremost citizens, died at his home in Colfax Saturday night after being confined to his bed for months with neurosis. He leaves a wife and one daughter. Dr. Parker was born in Perry Township Dec 10, 1850 being a son of George and Harriet (Loveless) Parker. His father was a native of Delaware coming to Indiana in 1830. Dr. Parker took a course at Stockwell Academy and in 1871 began the study of medicine with Dr. William Larabee of Clark's Hill. He attended lectures at Miami Medical College and aftewrards located here. He became well known over the state as a successful surgeon. In 1874 he married Charlotte A. Ewing of this county. He was both a Mason and Odd Fellow and was township trustee at the time of his death. - kz
